Man of the Future
I work at a bike shop, and what that really means is that during this time of the year, I spend a lot of time on the confuser browsing the interweb. Right now, I am listening/watching this thing for Trek dealer employees called Trek University. To emphasize just how exciting that is let me tell you that I am also checking my Okstupid profile, my work email, drinking coffee and writing this post on this blog. I'm a multi-tasking friggin master of the universe!

New Vampire movie
I admit, I'm a big fan of vampire movies. And even though I know that they are going to suck(HA!), I'll still watch everyone that is made. That's why I was so pleasantly surprised by this new Swedish flick, Let the Right One In. Check it.

Last Weekend
On Saturday, Colleen, Renee and I went out to central Oregon to check out this so called desert.

The first leg of our journey consisted of driving east along highway 84 through the always beautiful Columbia River Gorge. So just think of that photo but again being November, add a lot of rain, clouds, and mist. Kind of like the Misty Mountains from The Lord of the Rings. Next we headed south on 97 to the little town of Wasco. There, we found a bar (which of course was the only thing open) and ate lunch of grilled ham and cheese sandwiches with criss cross cut fries.

After lunch, we traveled south into the windswept hills. Along the way we passed a 30ft tall tree covered in discarded shoes. Apparently, this is a thing. Continuing along we wound our way into the small historical town of Antelope, Or. The town sign claimed a population of 37. I personally believe that population consisted entirely of mule deer as we saw no humans.

After more driving around and seeing of sites and tumbleweeds, we made our way west to our final destination near the eyeblink of a town Mitchell. Why there? Because that's where you have to go to get to the Painted Hills.
Unfortunately due to the long drive, we got there just after the sun went down so we did not get to witness the full scope of awesomeness. But let me tell you this, I have never been to a place so quiet in my entire life. And that includes the time I crawled into that cave. It was dark and quiet and so peaceful and we even got to see a lightning storm brewing off in the distance. I wonder what where we can go this Saturday.

Well it's November here in the great northwest, And I'm sure you know what that means for anyone who works in a bike shop.

Yes yes, it is completely dead in here, and after dusting bike frames, organizing clothing racks, putting stock away and surfing the interweb so many times, there is only one thing left to do. Update blogs! So for my one reader Jamison, I dedicate this post to you. Hailing out straight out of Philadelphia, she has been one of my most fervent pen pals and friends. She even came to visit me on a total whim which happened to be my birthday weekend. So here's to you, lovely Lady, may philly never bring you down, and may you continue to write to me even though I am the worst pen pal ever right now.

popped cherry
so um here it is, my first blog. hopefully i can find a way to make this funny and interesting for the one person other than me that might actually read this. by the way, hi jamie. if not, then really what is the point? this promises to be a slow process but i figured i might as well learn to use this technology before it passes me by. and maybe it will help me keep a finger on the pulse of what the kids (anyone under 33) are up to these days. hopefully i'll figure out a way to add pictures and wit so all those involved will feel properly titillated. i'm not sure if there is any general direction that this here blog is going to take, we'll all just have to wait and see, won't we.
